Walking down the main road of San Pedro la Laguna is like visiting an arts and crafts market. On each side of the road one can see locals offering their handmade crafts on small tables. One can watch them sewing leather for a bag, bending metal for jewelry or weaving hammocks. Many of them are truly gifted and it is amazing what they can create with the simplest tools! For most of them, this is the only job they have to support their families.
As travel-smart! is a project for human and economic development, we want to support these local craftsmen, transcend borders and give you the chance to purchase their beautiful creations for a fair price.
